Mandy supervises each student in turn, instructing, with hands-on demonstrations and explanations, what needs to be done to correct, improve and advance that specific drawing or painting.
Students choose their assignments together with Mandy according to their particular needs. This might include working through the Classical Drawing Program, the Classical Painting Program, drawing from photos, portrait practice, foundational skill building or portfolio preparation for grants or entry to higher art education institutions and programs such as Biomedical Illustration or Forensic Anatomy.

Learn 5 ways to represent depth on a 2-dimensional surface
Saturday April 22, 2023
- 10-1pm
- 2-5pm
$130 for 6-hour in-person workshop at the Atelier

With a special emphasis on linear perspective, this 6-hour workshop will break down this very complex subject into simple concepts and steps. The student will learn how to easily and convincingly depict subjects that recede into space. Starting with terminology and definitions of perspective, we will cover how, when and why to use each of these methods. Exercises with hands-on instructions mean that students will complete drawings in one- and two-point perspective, and will understand how to use perspective in their own work.
A simple supply list will be needed, most of which you probably already have at home. Some supplies will be provided.
Space is limited.
